During the military dictatorship in Brazil the secret police arrest Rubens Paiva, an ex-congressman. His disappearance sets wife Eunice (Fernanda Torres) on a 40-year quest to find out what happened. The family suffers but Eunice’s single-mindedness is unshakable. A memorable performance by Torres.
