Donya works for a Chinese fortune cookie factory in Fremont, California. She used to work with the US government as an Afghan translator and is troubled by insomnia and survivor’s guilt. She is promoted to writing the prophecies for the cookies. One day she sends out messages to the world with her phone number, hoping for love.
