Autumn & Winter 2017

The first half of the 2017/8 season boasted a wide range of exciting films from French Romance to English horror films and Japanese Drama.

4th October:
Julieta

A brokenhearted woman decides to confront her life and the most important events about her stranded daughter.

A practical joking father tries to reconnect with his hard working daughter by creating an outrageous alter ego.

18th October:
Things to Come

A philosophy teacher soldiers through the death of her mother, getting fired from her job, and dealing with a husband who is cheating on her.

1st November:
Tale of Tales

From the bitter quest of the Queen of Longtrellis, to the King of Highhills obsessed with a giant Flea, these tales are inspired by Giambattista Basile.

6th November:
The Salesman

A teacher’s wife is assaulted in her new home, which leaves him determined to find the perpetrator over his wife’s traumatized objections.

15th November:
Frantz

In the aftermath of WWI, a young German who grieves the death of her fiancé in France meets a mysterious Frenchman

15th November:
Broken Lullaby

A French soldier travels to Germany to find a family of a man he killed during World War I. He travels to Germany to meet the man’s family.

29th November:
Sing Street

A boy growing up in Dublin during the 1980s escapes his strained family life by starting a band to impress the mysterious girl he likes.

5th December:
After the Storm

After the death of his father, a private detective struggles to find child support money and reconnect with his son and ex-wife.

6th December:
Embrace of the Serpent

of the relationship between Karamakate, an Amazonian shaman and last survivor of his people, and two scientists

13th December:
Graduation

A film about compromises. There are ways of solving the situation, but none of them using the principles a father has taught his daughter.

20th December:
The Other Side Of Hope

A poker-playing restaurateur and former traveling salesman befriends a group of refugees newly arrived to Finland.

Winter and Spring 2018

The second half of the season had a huge list of films ranging from artistic biographies to jaw-dropping Thrillers.

A successful businesswoman gets caught up in a game of cat and mouse as she tracks down the unknown man who raped her.

Endless Poetry

Surrealist filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky tells the story of himself as a young man becoming a poet in Chile

31st January:
The Innocents

A doctor who is sent to assist survivors of the German camps discovers several nuns in advanced states of pregnancy during a visit to a convent.

7th February :
Sweet Bean

The manager of a pancake stall finds himself confronted with an odd but sympathetic elderly woman looking for work.

14th February :
After Love

A couple with kids are divorcing. Until the husband find a new place to live, they have to cohabit, and figure out how to share their belongings.

21st February :
American Honey

A teenage girl with nothing to lose joins a traveling magazine sales crew, and gets caught up in a whirlwind of hard partying

28th February :
The Clan

When his daughter goes missing from their prairie town east of France, Alain and his young son, Kid, head out to find her.
